how can we engage with our natural surroundings in a more tactile way to experience belonging?

I belong here is a collaboration with coastal landscapes, encompassing both personal and shared universal experiences of belonging. Inspired by the Cornish coast which has shaped my upbringing and identity, the series reflects my emotional connection to these landscapes. Analogue processes became a method of immersion, allowing for my practice to become more tactile, forming evidence of time spent in these places that feel like home. Engaging with the physicality of the environment, the series consists of camera-less prints made in-situ and black & white imagery which is processed in homemade, seaweed-based developer and seawater from the locations.

In a society that is becoming increasingly digital and disconnected from our natural surroundings, I belong here questions how we can engage with these landscapes through a more hands-on approach, and in turn experience these places in a more intentional and meaningful way.
