Tegen Veal is a photographic artist from St. Ives whose practice most often centres around the Cornish coast and its community. Covering themes of connection, place, experience and water, her work is inspired by her upbringing and passion for the spaces where land meets the sea. Also interested in human subjects and how people engage with the natural world, Tegen’s photographic practice offers a method in which she can engage with her surroundings to develop a deeper understanding of our relationship with the wider world.
In her ongoing project ‘I belong here’, Tegen is working around the fringes of photography to create visual imagery connecting her feelings of belonging to coastal landscapes.
Currently based in Falmouth, Cornwall, Tegen continues to use her photography as a form of self expression as well as hoping to encourage others to connect with their natural surroundings.
